Students had a blast riding in St. Mary's Park during BikeNYC's Afterschool Program while the instructors Casey and Shameer struggled to enforce Rules #1 and #2 . The P186X staff did the majority of the learning throughout these very first group bicycle rides.

Smart idea! Cycle Smart Curriculum is successfully rolled out to P186X students

Smart ideas being discussed all day long in the Walter Damrosch Library as Adam Benditsky from DOT's Office of Education and Outreach teaches our students the Cycle Smart curriculum. After the third and final session the students pedaled their way to an A+. Some of the topics included were helmet safety, being aware of surrrondings and route planning.

Specialized Foundation is coming to the South Bronx!!

After several attempts to make connection, a visit to RAB workshop in Long Island City jumped starts the P186X Pedalers Workshop. Choosing bikes in need of repair and awaiting the tool delivery quickly turns this dream into reality.
